Project Grant Program Overview

	Project Grant
Funding Objective	Specific ideas/projects with a defined endpoint (i.e., individual projects that make up your research program)
Funding Duration	Usually 1-5 years
Budget Request	Max 12.5M in total; but usually $ 50K-750K/year
Review Process	Project Grant applications follow a single-stage committee-based peer review evaluation process. As part of this process, expert reviewers will review their assigned applications remotely by focusing on the concept (i.e., significance and impact of the research) and the feasibility (i.e., approaches and methods, and expertise, experience and resources) of the proposal. Then, at the face-to-face committee meetings, these same reviewers will meet to streamline, discuss, and rate the applications. Their assessments are used as the basis for funding recommendations. Competition Cycle	2 separate competitions per year
Restrictions to Principal Investigator	Max 2 applications (each application must be different)
Special Consideration	New/early career investigators (specific funding envelope); Indigenous health research (complementary iterative peer review)
